Syscan has a R&D team of more than 50 people, mainly engaged in research, development, design, manufacture, OEM and sales of:

 •  ID scanners (including single side, double sided ID card scanners
    and passport scanners)
 •  2D barcode application solutions and 2D barcode reader (for DM,
    QR, PDF417, GM code and so on)
 •  USB powered portable scanners (including document, photo, ticket,
    bank check, invoice and business card scanners)

Up to 2008 syscan has got more than 110 patents approved around the world in above areas. Syscan's Grid Matrix (GM) barcode has approved to be the international standard by AIM global in 2008.
